Why We Like "What's New!"

When we launched "What's New" in blog format, we had one basic goal: make information more accessible.

We wanted you (parents, students and friends) to be able to get information when you want. We didn't want to limit your access to information just because it was after hours. Or a weekend. Or a holiday. We didn't want you to feel like you couldn't get information from us because your child drove herself to class and every important note that goes home with your daughter mysteriously disappears before it gets to you, or because when you pick your child up after class you have one kid waiting in the car and another waiting to be picked up from soccer practice. We want you to be able to get important information about your CBC when it's convenient for YOU.

Along with getting information, we wanted to make it easy to find information. Using the "search" feature, you can find information quickly. Each post has a series of searchable words listed underneath it. These words are related to the content and audience of the post. If you are looking for information that just pertains to your class, you can type in the class name (pre-ballet, ballet i, ballet ii, ballet iii, advanced ballet, adult ballet, adaptive ballet, modern). Or, if you are looking for recital information, type in "recital" and see all of the posts relating to recital news.

We also liked the idea of an interactive format. Afterall, if you are confused or wondering about something, chances are you're not alone. Post questions! Maybe you were wondering what your daughter means when she said she was doing "battement tendus" in class this week. (Or maybe your French is a lot better than most of ours!) Maybe we made a mistake that needs correcting--at least one of you has already pointed out an error on a make-up schedule that was posted. I and your fellow classmates thank you! All you have to do is click on the number of comments (ie "0 comment" or "6 comments") at the bottom of the post. Then click post a comment. It's easy; Google blogs will help.

We hope you find this format informative and user-friendly. Love it or hate it, let us know what you think.

Memorial Day

To Nicole's Saturday morning Ballet I class:

Due to a cancellation of a class in February, your child is allowed to take one make-up class. If you are interested, the options are as follows:

Wednesday at 2:30
Wednesday at 4:30

Please let the teacher know that your child is a part of the Saturday class and that she is taking the Wednesday class for a "make-up."

Costumes for Adapted Ballet Class

The Adapted Ballet class will not be ordering costumes for this year's recital. However, we would still like for the girls to have costumes--what's a recital without costumes, after all! We were hoping to work together to come up with 5 costumes to lend the girls. They can be costumes we have used in the past. The challenge will be finding 5 matching costumes of the right sizes. The sooner we can organize this, the better!
